Data engineer skills test

Last updated 18 Oct 2026

carbon.talent is a data and AI talent platform. Companies use it to send a data engineer skills test before they hire: the real-world data experience test on every plan, plus SQL and Python skills tests on paid plans.

You review a report, a short video and a working-style profile instead of judging from a CV alone. Post your role free, or test someone you already found.

What you can send

The real-world data experience test is included on Free, Starter, Team and Scale. It is not a SQL or Python coding test. It asks for judgement on a data scenario you would see in a real role.

SQL and Python skills tests are on paid plans (Starter $19, Team $49 and Scale $99 a month). Use them when you want a coding check as well as the experience test.

ID checks are on Team and Scale only. They are not on Free or Starter, and they are not included in the Team trial.

When you are ready, post a role free, send your own vetting assessment or a SQL or Python skills test, and review the report.
